Go Kayaking!
Gib and Debbie Lancaster purchased Mayne Island Kayak & Canoe Rentals in June 2001. With
the help of their children, Nicole and Jay, they are operating the business from their new location
in Miners Bay across from the historic Springwater Lodge.

"We are loving the tourism business and have met so many wonderful people. We are getting a
lot of repeat business from satisfied clients."
The Lancasters trailer to seven different launch sites on Mayne Island, including Bennett Bay.
"This is a great place to launch for a paddle out to the Belle Chain Islets, which is one of the most
popular areas to see abundant wildlife. Paddlers come back with smiles and stories of 40 or more
seals following along beside their kayaks or seeing the eagles nest on Anniversary Island. From
fall through spring, the sea lions can be seen lounging on the rocks and making quite a noisy
commotion if you paddle too close."
