Tahiti is the largest island in a group of 115 islands officially known as French Polynesia. Located in the South Pacific Ocean, it is 6600 km from California, 4400 km from New Zealand and 7800 km from Vancouver, Canada.

The landscape of the thin and narrow 400 square mile island is volcanic and mountainous, and because of the abundant rainfall, the vegetation is lush and verdant. The temperature is warm and constant and ranges from 16 to 32 Celsius. It's the perfect climate for the bountiful crops of bananas, sugarcane, coconuts, oranges and vanilla beans.
