most of the population lives, is lowland. The country's landscape includes several islands ( Gotland and Oland), several large rivers
and a number of large lakes.
The majority of the country's roughly 8,600,000 inhabitants is of the Lutheran
faith. The language is Swedish. The school system in Sweden is excellent and education is at the highest level. The
social services provides quality medical care and pension plans. The standard of living is one of the highest in the
world.
Leading industries include mining, farming and forest products and Sweden produces some of the world's finest
glassware and steel cutlery.
Although the king is the head of state, government rule is elected members headed by a
prime minister who represents the country in a three-year term.
