Ottawa

Ottawa, Canada's capital, is located along the Ottawa River across from Hull, Quebec. Although the city sees over 4 million visitors a year, most of the city's residents work for the government. European settlement began in 1810, however, the Algonquian and the Iroquoian Indians hunted and traded in the area for hundreds of years.

The city is very prosperous, with lots of parks and museums, good schools and a fine performing arts center.
