Okanagan Valley
The Okanagan region is a small yet diverse region. Its western boundary lies east of the forested
Cascade Mountains. Its southern edge travels east along the US border toward the Monashee
Mountains and through the driest section in all of British Columbia. Its northern border loops
around rolling hills.
Three modern cities, Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton and four major lakes
are located in its center corridor. During the summer months, the beach resorts and the sandy
beaches within this corridor are almost as crowded as Waikiki. A few are tucked away for
privacy.
