Sonoma County

Sonoma County is located along the California's Pacific coastline, some 35 miles north of San Francisco. The landscape of the county is made up of grassy hillsides, fields of wild flowers, groves of forests, and miles of rugged ocean-washed cliffs. Farmland and orchards cover parts of the terrain, however, agriculturally, the area is primarily devoted to vineyards.

The communities within the county's boundaries cater to visitors, offering them plenty of dining options and a variety of accommodations that range from historical Victorian homes to Spanish haciendas to modern resorts with grand views of the ocean. Dozens of antique shops, museums, craft shops and art galleries line town streets. Highlights include the Russian River, luxury spas, balloon rides and bicycle adventures.
