Gaming & Gambling Events
Gambling is exciting and entertaining, and today, practiced in nearly every country in the world. The props include
people engaging in sports, animals engaging in races and fights, games involving cards, dice and slot machines, and
competitions ranging from international boxing matches to a bullfight to a neighborhood bingo game. Diverse forms
of gambling include cock fights, turtle races and bare fist fighting.
The Lottery, another form of gambling, is very popular in Canada and the United States. Besides funding arts,
sports, hospitals, schools, and other social projects, it has made instant millionaires out of paupers.
In some countries, gambling is the major industry. For example, Monaco depends almost entirely on gambling
revenue, and since the American states of Nevada and New Jersey legalized gambling (in 1931 and 1978
respectively) they have never looked back. One visit to Las Vegas, Nevada and it's clear the city is built on a
bottomless goldmine.
Gambling in one form or another has been practiced by people throughout history and right from the start, it has been
a distracting and stimulating activity. So much so, some religious communities view it as the work of the devil.
However, for most people, gambling is fun, pure and simple, no different than a game of golf, or a shopping spree or
going to a football game and the majority of visitors to gambling Meccas like Las Vegas, Nevada, partake of the
activity only once or twice a year.
Nevertheless, most people, including gamblers, agree that gambling can become a disabling addiction and as such,
regulations and rules monitored by the government are necessary and help programs need to exist. If you think you
