Bay Pointe Inn Fall Color Tour Package

(SHELBYVILLE, Mich) - Now is the time to visit Bay Pointe Inn & Restaurant
on historic Gun Lake, as the leaves begin turning vibrant yellows, oranges
and reds signaling the onset of the autumn season.
A Fall Color Tour Package is being offered September 23 through November 15,
which includes one night accommodations for two people, continental
breakfast (Monday-Friday mornings), use of the indoor pool, fitness room and
nightly movies in the movie room, as well as a fall gift basket featuring
St. Julian's Blue Heron and Red Heron wines, commemorative Bay Pointe
glasses, snacks, bottled water, disposable camera, gas card, color tour map
and coupons for businesses along the route.
This year's route travels some 130 miles through Allegan and Van Buren
counties, past farm markets, wineries, antique shops and other exciting
attractions. Cities, including Martin, Allegan, Fennville, South Haven,
Bangor, Lawrence, Paw Paw and Kalamazoo, are waiting to be explored as
trees, adored with their fall colors, canopy the Michigan highways and
backroads. Meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, this route covers some
of the area's most scenic countryside.
Bay Pointe Inn's fall packages start at $143 per night for a Southside
Standard Room; Lakeside Standard Rooms are $163 per night. Whirlpool Suites
start at $299 per night. Add on an additional night and take advantage of
their fall discounted nightly rates which start at $79 per night including
weekends.
With the changing of the season comes a new fall menu, prepared by Executive
Chef Matt Overdevest. Paying special attention to local produce, this
harvest menu includes a selection of appetizers such as Yukon Gold Potato
Skins stuffed with pancetta, chives, sour cream and aged cheddar cheese and
Grilled Skewers of Beef Tenderloin on butter lettuce, tomato and creamy
garlic sauce. A variety of soups and salads are also offered.
Entrees such as Roasted Bone-in Pork Chop with wilted greens and whipped
potatoes with an apple rosemary sauce, Great Lakes Walleye, pan seared with
baby spinach, whipped potatoes, bacon and pine nuts with a hot brown butter
and balsamic vinaigrette and Oven-Roasted Filet Mignon with roasted
mushrooms, whipped potatoes and a Michigan tart cherry sauce are sure to
create a sense of warmth on chilly fall days.
On the "Sweets" menu are Black Forest Chocolate Cake with Michigan Cherry
Sauce, Plainwell Ice Cream Vanilla with Apple Cider Carmel and Baked Local
Apple with Maple Whipped Cream.
The Bay Pointe Restaurant is open through October Monday through Saturday
for lunch and dinner, November open for lunch on Saturday and Dinner Tuesday
through Saturday.
