Royal Sonesta Completes Third Phase

New Orleans, USA: January 15, 2002. The Royal Sonesta Hotel, located at 300 Bourbon Street in the historic French Quarter, has recently wrapped up the third phase of a five-year, $2.5 million per year, renovation of its guest rooms and suites. The hotel has been targeting 100 rooms per year of its 500-room inventory, and work has been taking place during the summer months.

The attractive new decor is traditional in keeping with the Old World, French Quarter style of the property. Renovations include new stylish furniture, original artwork, the addition of special touches such as pillow top mattresses, 250-count sheets, and down blankets. The guest bathrooms have also been completely remodeled, and custom features include granite treatments, Italian tile work, and generous vanity space, including drawers for storage.

Another completed project is the new fitness pavilion, located on the third floor pool area of the property. The state of the art pavilion features Cybex Equipment for leg curls and extensions, arm curls and extensions, treadmills, stair masters and more. In addition, the hotel added high-speed Internet access to all guestrooms last year.

The hotel also has 20 flexible meeting and function rooms and 22 suites - all of which have been recently renovated - including a 5,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom.
