Nassau Travel News ( Press Release )

New 88,500-ton Carnival Miracle to Operate Special Three-day Bahamas Cruise from Jacksonville Feb. 27, 2004. Newly Added Voyage Kicks off Line's First- ever 'Fun Ship' Cruise Program from Emerging Florida Port
Miami, Florida, USA: October 2003: Carnival Cruise Lines has scheduled a special three-day cruise from Jacksonville, Fla., Feb. 27 - March 1, 2004, aboard the 88,500-ton Carnival Miracle, the line's newest "Fun Ship" currently under construction in Helsinki, Finland.
The three-day inaugural cruise precedes a previously announced schedule of 11 three- to six-day voyages aboard the Miracle operating March 1 - April 17, 2004. Three-day cruises visit Freeport, The Bahamas; five-day cruises stop at Key West, Fla., and Nassau, The Bahamas; and six-day voyages feature Cozumel, Freeport and Costa Maya or Playa del Carmen.
"We're very excited about bringing the new Carnival Miracle to Jacksonville. In addition to providing a value-packed weekend getaway, this three-day voyage offers consumers an opportunity to be among the first to sail from our newest homeport aboard this spectacular 'floating resort,'" said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO.
The 20th vessel in Carnival Cruise Lines' fleet, Carnival Miracle will feature 13 passenger decks housing four swimming pools, a 14,500-square-foot health club, and three restaurants, including a two-level formal dining room, an expansive poolside eatery offering casual alternatives, and an upscale steakhouse-style supper club.
Sixteen lounges and bars, with dramatic interiors inspired by famous fictional characters, will also be featured. An 1,800-square-foot children's play area, part of the line's top-rated "Camp Carnival" children's program, and a high-tech video arcade, will be included, as well. Eighty percent of the ship's 1,062 staterooms will offer an ocean view with 80 percent of those featuring private balconies.
Following the Miracle sailings, Carnival's 1,452-passenger Holiday will kick off Jacksonville's first year-round cruise program with a six-day voyage departing Oct. 17, 2004. The ship will then launch four- and five-day service from Jacksonville Oct. 23, 2004.
Carnival is currently accepting reservations for all of its various departures from Jacksonville.
Prices for the Carnival Miracle's Feb. 27 three-day voyage from Jacksonville begin at $399 per person based on double occupancy. If purchased via Carnival's "Fun Finance Plan (SM)," which enables guests to purchase a "Fun Ship" cruise over 24 monthly installments, prices begin at $19 per month (based on a 24-month payment term at the lowest annual percentage rate available).
Actual "Fun Finance Plan" monthly payments and terms may vary according to the applicant's credit qualifications. Valid for U.S. individual bookings only. Certain other restrictions apply. Special rates for third and fourth guests sailing in the same stateroom are available, as well.
