Mykonos
Athens Travel News ( Press Release )

Earth, Water, Sky, Fresh Fish, Bread, Wine - Wimco's Newest Sun-drenched Destination, Mykonos, Brings Villa Living to an Elemental High
January 2004 - Providing villa accommodations in sun-drenched destinations is Wimco's forte. Now the internationally recognized purveyor of highly private lodgings announces that it can offer 27 villas on Mykonos to its discerning clientele.
"Mykonos is a natural extension of our Mediterranean focus," says Janis Gordon, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for this Newport, RI, and London-based luxury vacation villa and hotel reservations company.
"Our clients, both here in the US and in Europe, have come to count on Wimco's recommendations for finding seclusion and comfort in eclectic, culturally diverse but always sun- drenched regions," she says.
Mykonos is the newest destination in Wimco's international villa portfolio that began with St. Barts two decades ago and over time expanded to include many other Caribbean islands as well as choice European locations on the Mediterranean.
Gordon says that selecting Mykonos as a villa destination is akin to its inclusion of villas in and around St. Tropez a few years ago.
"Mykonos is one of the few destinations left in the world where you find sophistication and simplicity, social life and tranquility, comfort and nature, modern culture and history," Gordon says.
In the heart of the Aegean Sea, Mykonos, which is the most cosmopolitan of the Cyclades islands, virtually throbs with a primary resonance of blue sky and water wrapping its white- washed dwellings on rock-strewn hills.
"Earth, water, sky, sun, fresh fish, bread and wine . our Mykonos villas are simply the vehicles for supporting these elements," she says.
Price Range
Wimco's Mykonos collection ranges from a 3-bedroom villa at a $6,685 per week to a lavish 4- bedroom villa at $17,010 per week. Most have on-premise swimming pools and daily maid service. Locations range from the old town of Ano Mera to surrounding hills overlooking Panormos Bay. Before Wimco signs on a villa, its staff visit each villa and explore surrounding regions for those choice dining and cultural attractions that guests will enjoy.
