Getting to Dusseldorf is easy. More than 16 million passengers used the facilities at the Dusseldorf International Airport in 2000 (25 million expected in 2002), making it the third largest airport in the country, next to Frankfurt and Munich. It is a sleek glass and steel facility with all the latest parts necessary to efficiently get people to and from domestic destinations and connect them to more than 190 cities worldwide. Lufthansa is the country's own airline with flights across the globe. Other airlines with flights in and out of Dusseldorf are listed at the end of this post.
Taking the train is an exciting way to visit Dusseldorf, too, and the brand new (2000) ICE station is conveniently operating right at the Dusseldorf Airport, with connections to and from sixty countries, including France, England, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.
