Our room had a small gallery facing the busy canal. It was exciting to watch the commotion in the water and hear the voices of the gondola skippers serenading under the stars.

Remember that a luxury hotel in the heart of Venice doesn't mean the floors won't slope or the walls aren't cracked. It does mean, however, that amenities like thick plush towels and fine services are to be expected.
