Weather in Fiji
Nukubati Island Travel Tip
Most of the resorts on Fiji hug the shores of the west and south coasts of the larger islands where
the climate is dry and hot. The east and north sides are wet, lush and tropical. The island's
winter season, (November to April), is its dry season. Although the islands lie in the path of
hurricanes, only four severe storms hit the Fiji Islands in the last 20 years.
Temperatures average 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit from winter to summer. During our visit in
January, the temperature rose to almost 100. We foolishly went on the sand in bare feet, but not
for very long. Thank heavens we were close to the ocean's edge and we were able to cool off our
burning soles.
Remember to wear hats, drink lots of water and use sun screen during all activities.
