Weather in the Bahamas is typical for the sub-tropics with temperatures in the high 70's F in the winter months and high 80's F in the summer. Rainy season is May through October. Hurricanes can occur from July through November. Because they can be dangerous, most hotels will issue a refund if storm warnings occur. However, do check directly with the lodging management or the travel agent before booking your reservation.

Many visitors enjoy traveling in the off season (during rainy season) when rates and crowds are low. High season is January through May.

In 1999 the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism recorded 1,662,626 foreign visitors January through May.
